Today I
drove by a construction site for urban living spaces. I read the name of the complex, it didn’t
really impress me, but what caught my attention was the word they used to describe
what kind of units these were: flats.
Now, in some areas that’s a common term, but in the area I live in they
are usually called apartments or condos.
They used the word ‘flat’. By
adding this not-so-common term they added a new life in the attempt to grab
your attention and captivate the heart.
This sounds like a typical marketing ploy, and it’s used because it can
work.

It's no surprise, we're living in a world filled with dichotomies aka opposites. Sometimes the interaction is friendly, sometimes it's filled with opposition. Look around, and you'll find it difficult to find anything that does not have an opposite. Conscious and unconscious, love and fear, masculine ands feminine, stuggle and ease.
The idea of Yin Yang is allowing seamless flow and support, and understanding that one cannot exist without the other. Night gives way to day, and light recedes into darkness. But we're all a bunch of thinkers, with our know-it-all ways, and in our process of creating and progressing it's easy to go against the grain, and use our might and force rather than utilize the nature flow. The current naturally flows upward, right? So then what should we do, just ride the tide? Sorry, neither of these are the only answer, for both of those methods are just one side of the story. What if you utilize both, using the flow and strength of the current while directing that movement with the will? That's Yin Yang Power!
